Hello Mr Robin!

So here we are again! Now since the Ghost fish in my last post I hadn't really been creative at all and was just waiting for my first day off work once the school term had begun.

Last Friday I made a date with my craftin buddy Sue ' I NEED TO CRAFT!' so we painted and sprayed a cut and this is my offering of a little robin on his rather tall bird house.

Stamps used were Chocolate Baroque Holly & Ivy and New England Winter along with Tim's Pine cone die used for the roses and the little wooden house was from Paperartsy.

I must admit I got a little frustrated with the roses as they just didn't work properly to start with but it is quite cute...although I don't really do cute LOL.

Anyway I'm off for a session.TTFN

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment.

Ghost Fish

Well hello there, it's only been a month since my last blog, not that bad considering it was the summer hols. Well it's all back to normal now (what ever that it LOL).

Whilst we were away in Devon it was my spoons birthday so we had to take all his gifts down with us, as you do!

Now this project actually started on holiday last year, "last year" I hear you ask...

Martyn got up early (a few days anyway) before breakfast and went over to the other lake as he wasn't catching anything on the one our cabin was almost floating on!!

Anyway this one morning he didn't take his phone with him and struggled for 15mins to land this HUGE fish but as no-one else was with him and he hadn't got his phone to take a photo he reached for a nearby twig and broke it to the size of the fish as measurement.

(This isn't a long story HONEST!)

So when we turned up with his breakfast we heard his fishermans tale; you know the one 'It was TH-------IS BIG', anyway the twig came home with us!

So you know how you can have fish mounted well we, as in me and the kids thought we'd mount Martyn's stick and this was the outcome:

We masked the fish with a cut out mask and sprayed the back ground with glimmer mists and simply used a mixture of Chocolate Baroque and Paperartsy stamps, and used computer generated text calling it 'Ghost Fish'. Than mounted it in an Ikea box frame with some pebbles and shells.

The good news is he absolutely LOVED it!!

Now if I can keep you here for a couple more minutes to show the card my not so little babies made for him which I am very proud of, not only because it's lovely but more because they actually worked together without bickering, which when they are very much at they age when they annoy one another over the slightest of things is pretty amazing!!

Anyhow, thanks for stopping by

Canvas Corset

Hope you have all had a good week in the sun.
We have had a super week in the Lake District and got back last night. It's always nice to get back to your own bed isn't it? The weather was amazing too!

I made this for a friend before we left using Chocolate Baroque Haberdashery set and Crafty Individuals CI328

I used distress inks and paint for the colouring and finished off with some stitching.

Anyway only a quick post as I have to finish tea and think I forgot to put timer on so it might be a little well done!!

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment.

Chocolate Baroque Alpha Tag Swap July 2012

Well this is the last one for tonight!

As they have been posted on photo bucket I thought I'd be safe in posting (as I'm on a roll!LOL)

Margaret is the inspiration behind this swap and works tirelessly to keep us all on track and is already think about next year apparently!!!

This month is O and P...

O is for Ocean

Initially I spread some golden light molding paste through a stencil, once dry sprayed with glimmer mists.

The seahorse (underwater set) was stamped onto thick tracing paper with distress ink and heat embossed. The background is stamped with mixture of underwater set and wisteria lane. Now I absolutely adore the underwater stamp set but for some reason really struggle using it but I was quite pleased how this turned out as it's a bit moody and the seahorse is transparent, which they are a bit aren't they?!

P is for Ponder

Now with P I used Crafty Individuals C286 stamp which includes images of Whitby Abbey (which I just happened to visit last year and took some pics). I inserted the pic into a word document and played around with the basic paint effects and found one that looked like distress ink that has been sprayed with water, how cool I thought! As you do!

So I coloured the tag with distress ink and sprayed with water! Stamped it with the same colour and didn't like it so tried with all my might to over stamp with archival ink but as I wasn't very accurate it gave a ghost effect which I quite liked actually. I then stamped the text from the same sheet the bottom and used a typed word ponder to finish off.

Anyway I'm off, thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment.

Well Hello, hope you are fine and dandy?
As I was so busy during the run up to the end of school (see previous post) I missed my sister-in-laws and nieces birthdays. (Shame on me!)
They seriously need to move their birthdays to a more convenient time, or maybe I just need to move them onto to June on the calendar!
As their birthdays had passed by a whole week I didn't see the point in making cards so made this little hanging and mini canvas.

Coloured with picked raspberry distress ink and painted over with gesso to tone it down a little, then stamped and inked through sequin waste.

The pictures are from Crafty Individuals pads

I coloured the canvas and flower with distress satins and stamped the bees onto tissue paper for the background and sprayed paper for the actual bee. Flower and stamp set from Chocolate Baroque.

Now for my my Tinkerbell, that what I used to call my niece when she was little, who turned 30 this week Ahhh makes me feel really old!
Stampotique, Paperartsy and The Stamp Man stamps used here with Glimmer Mist and painted canvas background. Just for a bit of fun!

So that's it for this one, thanks for popping by and feel free to leave a message.

Teachers Prezzies!

Well, as usual there was a lot of work to do for teachers prezzies before the kids finished, I mean it's not like I've known when the end of school was going to be is it!!

Anyway I was semi-sorted then realised that I'd missed quite a few (as you do) when I was reading Hels Sheridans blog and HEY PRESTO! She had mentioned the rumour about the Ikea mirrors being discontinued, well! I thought this is the answer to all my crafty needs so off I toddled to Ikea.

Well it took me ages to do this post then blogger decided not to work so the re-working is going to be a lot shorter and just lots of pics!!

I have used glitter mist sprays, distress inks and paints with stamps from:
Chocolate Baroque, Paper Arsty, Stampotique, Graphic 45, Crafty Individuals.

Just a special mention for the Wizard of Oz one! My son wrote a couplet poem on the Oz show they had seen which brought his teacher to tears, she was so impressed with it so I re-typed and decorated it, which she was chuffed with, even with my typo!

Well that was the teachers prezzies, I have had a creative weekend so watch this space, thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a message.

Art Parts

Haven't I been naughty, fancy not blogging since last year!

I couldn't believe it had been that long actually...mental note to self...'must do better'.

Well here is my first play with Art Parts and they're really good. I don't think I've really done them justice but for a first play it's ok.
